Abstract

The ability of scientific and technological innovation represents a nation’s core competitiveness, and the construction of an innovation culture serves as the fundamental guarantee for consolidating and enhancing innovation capabilities. The innovation culture with Chinese characteristics has gradually taken shape in the long-term practice of China’s scientific and technological development, going through stages such as germination and foundation-laying, gradual formation, strategic deepening, and high-quality development. It features distinct characteristics such as a people-centered approach, self-reliance and self-improvement, openness and collaboration, as well as creation and sharing, which significantly differ from Western innovation cultures. Currently, international scientific and technological competition is intensifying, artificial intelligence is reshaping the paradigm of scientific and technological innovation, social mobilization and value transformation in science communication are insufficient, and there are contradictions and conflicts between the free exploration of scientific and technological innovation and national missions, as well as between short-term interests and long-term goals. To optimize the current innovation culture with Chinese characteristics, emphasis should be placed on strengthening value guidance, coordinating self-reliance and openness, balancing short-term interests and long-term values, promoting the spirit of innovation, and advocating co-creation and sharing.
