Abstract

This paper firstly reviews the achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) since its raise 10 years ago in terms of policy communication, facility connectivity, trade exchanges, financial integration, and people-to-people bond, and explains the significance of BRI to the new development pattern of the dual circulation. Then, combined with the actual national conditions of China's new development stage, it analyzes the opportunities and challenges of the construction of the Belt and Road in the new situation of the global economy and trade. Finally, it puts forward policy suggestions for the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road in five aspects: industrial chain synergy, business environment construction, new power cultivation, scientific and technological innovation empowerment, and risk control and prevention.
