Application and Empirical Analysis of Think Tank Double Helix Methodology
Abstract
With the world-renowned development and proliferation of the Internet in China, we have seen the dawning of the IoE (Internet of everything) era, where there will be significant permeation into all corners of society. The new formats as Internet economy and digital economy become the new momentum for economic growth, and it will have profound impact on the demand for skills, which is considerably high on the agenda of social research. Accordingly, we need to grasp the law of development, have insight of trends, make predictions and give policy response. This study proposes to build a new think tank research system on employment in the Internet age, based on the Think Tank Double Helix Methodology. First of all, the necessity of constructing a new think tank research system on employment is expounded with theory and methodology. Then, this study summarizes the key elements to build a new think tank research system on employment from the perspective of research links and logic, based on the "Six Transitions" of the Think Tank Double Helix Methodology. Finally, we consider and explain the relationship between think tank research and academic research, furthermore, this forms academic and practical think tank research system by building up a connection between those two.
